I have been playing games since the Super Nintendo days. Growing up mr and my brother would spend countless hours Versuing each other in Multiplayer combat or working through a games Campaign/Story mode.

When my Twin sisters were born, they to began to indulge in videogames. I noticed that how ever unlike us boys my sister's badly sucked at most games that required Tactics and sudden on the fly thinking, This was second nature for me. When we would destroy them in Halo they would cry to our father "They're not letting me win " , so our father would force us to lose the game intentionally. If I tried to stop playing and leave I would be forced to stay and continue "Playing the game". This was very annoying as it turned my joy into sorrow.

The types of games my sister's primarily played were Pokemon and The Sims. Now "The Sims" for those that don't know, is a game where you create people, assign them personality traits and you act as a God-figure directing them through their day, making sure they dont defecate on themselves, socializing etc. In a game like this their are no levels to clear, no story to beat, no definite end. There are no goals besides the ones you set, Making this an extremely easy game. Which in my opinion is partially why it has a Huge appeal with woman. All of my female friends that are gamers play this game or have growing up. Most of them have told me stories about how they liked being able to control the lives of these "people" that need them. How they like to remove the windows on their Sims house, then build a chimney next to a fire hazard and watching the family panic as they run around the house choking, searching for a non existent exit.

I'd say that makes an argument for Video games =Violent boys, stereotype.

Growing up i had a group of male friends and 1 female friend that also lived with my best friend. We all liked to play games such as Def Jam Vendetta, Vice city, Far Cry, Super Smash bros. There was much boasting and smack talking, times I look back on and smile. How ever my female friend almost never engaged in any of this and preferred to play games like Pokemon photo(Nintendo 64) a game in which you would aim a reticle to snap photos of Pokemon that would pop up as the screen automatically navigated for you. At the end you received a grade, but as far as I knew it seemed like you never really lost, you just finished.

The point of this is to counter the Feminist notion that men and woman are the same and that it's just society influencing or differences. We are findemnatally different. The examples above serve as a metaphor, those easy risk free, simplistic games that women gravitate more towards, like CANDY CRUSH are like the path that woman take in life they would rather get a degree in thereaputic art or feminism than do something mentally complex like coding or taking up chess as a hobby.

Thanks for viewing, I'm not the best writer. And i apologize if the flow of this was confusing
