Hey guys, I guess not all of you chose your own way yet. I have a question to those of you with wives: does your wife turn into a surgeon at operation when you're around?
"Pass me the cup, pour some water, give me that book, close the drawer, find me a teaspoon."
As soon as I'm anywhere in the house, she would shout to get me come around and pass her salt from the dining table that is two steps away from her. I literally have to go downstairs and close the tap of water that she opened. She's still right there in the kitchen, but "she's busy cooking".
Is it a common thing or just my wife?

We're 15 years together, and this has been going on for the last 4 years. I'm trying to understand a reason behind it.
Yes, she might be testing me but why testing for so many years? She must have something else in mind, I can't seem to understand what exactly. Is she attention to get a divorce? I tried to suggest that a couple of times, she didn't want it. What then?
Thank you for the links.

Heh, I could only contract STD from her if we'd had sex, which we don't. But yes, good advice, thank you.

Just because it's fun for them to do that?

It is what passes for 'normal' with most women my friend!
I'm married too and browse this sub once in a while to see how much crazy shit goes on and learn a bit about both genders. Mine happens to be a real trad-con and I've found a groove between "here, let me help" and "too busy with this thing that's due, sorry bub." Pro tip: you can usually avoid the surgeon if you make it about income ;-)
Here's what you wanna do:
Typically us guys take care of shit ourselves - if we want a pen, we go get a pen - but we don't realise we can actually play the "you better be there when I need you" card too!
Next time you're doing some DIY or changing the oil, ask seriously for a coffee or a cold one. Ask her and thank her like it's expected. When you're in social settings with her, talk about how awesomely balanced you guys are and start driving the relationship in that direction.
Women really crave a leader and will usually acquiesce if you stand your ground - not with anger, but in that unflappable, centered way only males can do. Most of the problems we have women are from idolising them too much.
You can totally gain ground you've given up by establishing new habits. No one has power over you except what you allow them to have. Get control of the space around you and you'll find your influence starts to spread out to other people.
Treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen. It's what they do.
TL;DR - if shes a surgeon, become a hospital administrator.
