The caption logic in the OP is sound... we do to some extent advise men not to "simp for roasties".
But you're also not wrong given the original context of this part of the commercial itself... but that makes the commercial wrong in itself... this scene is basically saying that a man approaching a woman he finds attractive is "toxic behavior."
FTR, I throw this specific scene in the face of every woman I hear whining about how men don't approach them anymore as the reason why... and I make sure to point out that it was directed by a feminist.

It's a meme... it's implied that the captions replace the original characters conceptually while maintaining the same actions are taking place... and that fits MGTOW pretty well.... i.e. "MGTOW" tell would-be "simps" that it's "not cool" to give attention to (legitimate) "roasties".
Most of us would assess the original video (which is from the infamous man-bashing Gillette ad) the same way you do.... just a guy approaching a woman he's attracted to... an act that the ad stupidly calls "toxic masculinity".

Personally i believe men need to take a step back and look at exactly what the "prize" of courting woman is. Its not love. Its not loyalty. Its not even chastity. The females we're surrounded by are, for the most part, awful. Ran through, fickle and mean spirited. Approaching them is a waste of a mans valuable time and if she really wanted him she would have gone up to him first. All he is doing is offering up resources.
In 2020, there's no way to tell which woman is the gold-digger, which is the "Roastie", which has the legitimate cluster-B disorder (NPD, HPD, BPD, etc.), etc. vs. the one out of maybe 10 is legitimately decent because they do nothing to set themselves apart from the rest, and we don't have time to sift through 1000 bar-whores to find the one woman who barely meets a minimal standard (nevermind that even if we could talk to all of them, that would make us the creep that hits on every skirt in the room).
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it was Joker (Better Bachelor on Youtube) who said it's like trying to find a specific needle in a needle-stack...
Personally I'd say it's a matter of men moving the conversation forward from "why buy the cow when the milk is free?" to "What the hell do I want with a cow that only gives spoiled milk, if it gives milk at all?"

Callout boxes (like in comic books) would help. If you're not familiar with MGTOW, the characters' actions look unclear. For instance, MGTOW Man is acting a little too touchy-feely with Simp Man.
So... Simp Man's callout box could say "I want to rescue her from the abusive jerks she's been with." MGTOW Man could have a callout box saying "Don't do it, Simp; Chad Thundercock just fucked her, and she's pregnant." Roastie's thought bubble could say: "There are no good men left."

You don't have to be a virgin to be mgtow. Mgtow means you don't commit legally, financially, or emotionally to women. You can still get laid.
