So what double standards am I talking about? Here they are....

  1. She unties our (me and my other male co-workers) aprons at work.

  2. She will intentionally and purposely brush against our butts while moving around.

  3. She flings small portions of food (as a humorous) act on one of my male coworkers who is very quiet and soft spoken.

  4. She puts objects (ketchup, vinegar packets, small magnets etc) in our pockets without our knowledge.

  5. She usually comes to work for 4 hours per shift. The first hour is spent eating something and sipping coffee. She calls it her lunch break. The last hour is spent eating, sipping coffee and fooling around on her phone. She calls this her dinner break. The two hours in between are spent pretending to work while delegating the tasks to us guys.

  6. She has zero skill-set or work ethic yet gets the most preferential and favourable treatment from the boss (who also happens to be a domineering female, more on that later). She never gets called out for her mistakes. Instead she is glorified all the time.

  7. She pretends to be disabled, single mommy (thus collecting welfare) but gets all her payment at work in cash (she is legal Canadian caucasian citizen.) She works the least hours but gets paid the most. (Again! Courtesy of our boss that happens to be a female.) While us men that toil the whole day and work relentlessly, get paid way lesser in comparison for our output.

  8. Not too long ago, she borrowed cigarettes from me on more than few occasions. (She has been an on/off smoker). First, it was one, then it was a few (6-7). One day she fell sick (case of food poisoning). Instead she and the boss collectively blamed me for her bout with the illness saying that I had got her addicted to smoking which in turn made her sick.

  9. She can take ill days off. All men that work in that restaurant have to show up, regardless of sick they are.

  10. She will make stupid mistakes at work and (as always) all the guys get collectively blamed for it because a) she refrains from admitting them b) Women can never do anything wrong.

Despite all these atrocities our female boss pretends to be completely impervious to this. Instead, she just shrugs it off and even laughs about it saying that the girl is just being silly and funny. What if the gender roles were reversed? You already know the answer.

Fellas! I will be quitting this job by the end of the Summer as I will be recommencing at the university. Cheers.
