The choice in either case is a purely economic one, not a moral one. A human offspring is incredibly taxing to it's caretaker mentally, physically, and financially. If one is thinking rationally, one would in every case choose not to be a parent, regardless of gender.

It's worse. If a man dicides not be a father, no one gets hurt. If a woman decides not to be a mother, she usually murders the baby in cold blood. And somehow we allow the second but not the first one.

The difference is that the woman is taking responsibility by getting an abortion. When the baby is allowed to be born, the man or woman who abandons it is ignoring an obligation that they have created and allowed to exist. This not a double standard, it’s two entirely different situations.
