Not a lawyer but the way I understand it is somewhat like this:

We are a society, we take care of the children.
Womans body, her decision if she wants to abort. You cannot decide anything.
Woman casts lvl 0 'financial drain for ## years' spell out of her twat. Writes any name she chooses under father on the piece of paper government provides her with.
Child is born, mommy cannot work (pfff, optimist), but remember 1, the we take care of children part? Well it's going to be either gov or person whose name was written.
Govt has more guns and bullets than person, therefore govt decides person pays so "we" "take care of the children". The end.

Because women that's why. They put on their eye liner and mascara, then cry to the court "MY KID!!! This man treated him like a son for a small amount of time, and it's just cruel that he won't do that forever.. make him pay!"

Then the judge sees the runny mascara, smeared eye liner, and blames the man for making her cry, and he punishes the man for that.

Moral of the story: don't play house with fatherless kids unless you want to do it for the rest of their childhood.

There are no laws on this. So if a child sees you as a father figure, the judge can decide for you to pay anyway. Tom Leykis, is pretty vocal on this. Check him out on YouTube.

How exactly does a man who is not the biological father of a child end up having to pay child support?

He started paying and is now bound to continue payment due to estoppel.
He signed the birth certificate, which is held against him in family court, even if he was deceived or mistaken.
The woman named him as the father to get state benefits and he didn't contest paternity within the statutory time period.

Because the government doesn't want to pay for it, and you're the closest dumbass in proximity. It's a personal tax on having gotten too close to a train wreck.

The legal system is not your friend. It exists to steal your money, or your time by locking you up. You have value only in as much as you provide coin to the realm. That's why you're taxed to death.

And the child is the most important thing. You're not a child, so you're not important. Since children are the most important thing in the world, and women are too stupid to support children apparently nor find employment, then your dumb ass gets to pay.

So don't get into relationships (MGTOW) don't date single mothers, don't make babies (30% aren't the "fathers" anyway), and never believe one is yours.

And as always, sterilize yourself so you don't make babies unless you get off for paying for multiple babies (mother and child).

It's the law now as decided by the Quebec Supreme Court and it's a matter of time before courts follow suite.

Children going thru a parents divorce feel let out and confused. If you have suspicions that one may not be yours, your own lawyer will give you a guilt trip that the child will suffer even more to find out that his father is not his real father. You love that child, what will you do?

As far as I know it's only the case in France. It's illegal or something to get paternity tests so if wifey cheats on you and has a bastard then you can't do anything about it.

Child support laws and proceedings are designed to protect the child, not adults. Therefore, if a man is named as he father of a child, even if he was no more than a sperm donor to a lesbian couple, the state will pursue him to provide for the child without burdening the state by putting them on welfare. It is then the father's responsibility to prove he wasn't responsible for creating the kid. Depending on the judge, they may or may not let the "dad" off the hook because doing so would put the kid on welfare instead. Better for the state that not-dad pay.

i didn't find the other responses adequate, so here you go..

in most cases, the female gets pregnant by someone other than her husband and the husband is never told the truth..

if at some point the husband accomplishes a dna test against the child or children and the test proves he's not the biological father, whether still married or not; in some states states, if he was married to her, at the time of the birth, he's considered the father, period, while in other states, after the child is born, he may have anywhere from one month, up to a year to legally challenge the paternity, though once past these time limits, he is declared the father, period.

in other cases, not married, a man is noted as the father, on the birth certificate and he is required to be served papers as to the intent of him being declared the father, though if all they have to go on, is his last address and they cannot locate him, then there is a time limit on this as well. there are cases where men have been declared the father, whom were in jail, at the time he was to be served, though never were, so they are declared the fathers, period.

from a blue pill perspective, most men might question if they are in fact the biological father, while in relationships, though don't want to rock the boat, by asking/demanding a dna test. given females don't take kindly to this sort of thing.

once the child is beyond two years old, whomever has been declared the father, legally is the father, period.

one more variance, a female gets pregnant, the father disappears, dies.. she then hooks up with a new male, they move in together, he provides for her and her children, after a period of time, this man can be declared the father of her children and is now responsible for child support, even if the relationship ends.

lastly, if the non biological father adopts a/the child/children, he is now responsible for child support, period.

note: child support assumes, not married or after a divorce, he is responsible to this, none the less.

in all of the above cases, regardless of if the male knows the children are not his, he is responsible for child support, for someone elses child/children.

this is how it happens..
