Don't worry, as someone currently studying network security I can tell you that cryptography is going absolutely no where. All of the top crypto algorithms are all open source, so if they try to rid of it, the smart people (us) will just stop using the vulnerable software and websites and make/use our own so good luck with that.

Not sure about the weaker encryptions but the world's most powerful computer network (Bitcoin) would still need well over 100 years to crack a Sha-256 encryption and that's just to crack 1 encryption.

My guess is this bill isn't about bruteforcing encryption but prohibiting Facebook, Whatsapp and other American companies from including encryption.
