A single man rarely gets approved for adoption. Hell, married couples have a tough time of it. Unless you can find a pregnant woman willing to directly sign custody over to you, it's damn near impossible to adopt. I used to work with a guy that has to fly to China multiple times with his wife before they could adopt a little girl there. That was the easier path than trying to adopt a child in the US.
