I also am not fond of the term because it implies that only a sequestered portion of the house is approved for manly energy. Like: here you go doggy, here’s a little bone to make you think you have some say in life but don’t think you can bring your lava lamp and playboy calendar anywhere else in the house that you pay for. (Those are examples btw not my ideal decorations.)
