I'm not a professional, but I am a huge calisthenics enthusiast. I started with resistance training and barbell work about 7 years ago but for the past 4 years 80 percent of my workout routine has been body weight

In my experience I would say either your joints need to get stronger, or you may be flaring your elbows. Focus on mind to muscle connection. Its not about how many reps you do, but how well you do them!! Posture is key!

I will still experience joint pain in my wrists and sometimes my elbows....I think it can be from doing so many pushups, dips, and pull ups....depending on how bad the pain is I will either do easier variations of and exercise, or cut back on volume....most of the time I just work through it and eventually the joint pain leaves and the body adapts. But evaluate how bad the pain is before working through it

Remember....doing dips is like using 80 percent of all your bodyweight while regular pushups is something like 30% to 40%.....a lot more resistance with dips......hope this helped

This would better asked in a fitness sub, because they will be better informed on the specifics, but here's my 2 cents.

Firstly, if you are doing weighted dips, Stop. You dont want to exasperate the problem by putting further strain on your elbow, stick to unweighted or even assisted dips for the time being.

Second, double check your form. Get in front of the mirror and check where your elbows are going. You might be lop sided or putting to much pressure on your right side, or your elbow might be pointing too far outwards/inwards which is straining the joint.

Thirdly, discuss the issue with a GP, "Elbow pain" is a very vague description, and could be caused by all sorts of things. You might have a problem with the joint, or be suffering from inflammation or a 'tennis elbow'-like condition.

I get a similar problem with my knee during squats, which is caused by inflammation behind the knee cap, and its primarily an issue with form, if I keep my reps tight and controlled, I usually don't have any issues.

Is it the feeling of a tendon slipping over you funny bone? If so its called ulnar nerve subluxion. I have it on my left elbow where i cant go down much lower than 90% when doing shoulder press with heavy dumbbells

Is it more pain in the muscle, or does it involve more joint(bone) pain? Specifics help.

I have the same thing. Inner elbow in my case. Rest it and get a compression sleeve to wear until it goes away. It can take a few months. Here is a little bit more info on it.
