I think what you are talking about may be a loss of optimism regarding dating.

Before MGTOW, when a guy meets an attractive single woman, I think it's common (even for an average-looking guy), to think, "Maybe she'll like me." I think this tends to happen, no matter how boring a guy's history with women has been.

After being MGTOW for a while, if I see an attractive woman, there's very little real excitement anymore in terms of optimism like before. I'm pretty sure that she would never be interested in me, and actually there's probably not much benefit to me of getting interested in her either. Because the chances of it going anywhere are very low, and if it went somewhere, it's a lot of effort spent on something that by no means can be predicted with accuracy to be successful.

So the whole experience is much different from before MGTOW.
