My mother did this to a guy. When I was little there was this old guy always hanging around - giving my mom money, fixing shit around the house, giving us rides everywhere. The dude wasn't related to us and I really never had a clear idea of why he was there, other than he was my mother's "friend". Of course, as I got older I thought it was weird that this guy did tons of shit for us...yet I never saw my mother do anything for him even once. Somehow she even got the guy to put her on his life insurance and when he eventually died she took a trip to Europe on the proceeds. I don't even thnk she went to his funeral, and the only reaction by her when he passed was to make sure the insurance paid. This guy had been helping her in every way possible for at least 20 years at that point, and she didn't even shed a tear when he passed.

Seeing how she just leeched off of this guy for all of those years was just one more step on my road to MGTOW, because while I liked the guy I definitely never wanted to grow up to be like him.
