General Monk Thread For All Topics Monk

I don't see much writing online about "monk mode" or clearly defining it (just searched "monk" on /r/MGTOW, only a few threads)

Monk mode has been understood afaik as either a) commitment/dedication to abstinence or b) withdrawing from society for personal development (also called "cocoon" mode in some other places I've seen). c) And then there would be being a literal religious monk, like for me I'm Christian so I have tried to see what monasteries do and try that out a bit (I think there's a lot of shake-ups going on with Christianity today and there are no monasteries I would recommend joining or that I agree with, so I was trying to adapt some prayer and work ideas apart from those).

There are a few articles online that mostly discuss "monk mode" as being in a focused state of work for a few hours without distractions, and I know of one book that mentions the author went in this kind of "monk mode" to write his book ("Essentialism" book).

Anyway, what is monk mode to you?

How has monk life been?

What is your vision of what an "ultimate monk mode" would be? (Hard modes? Asceticism, etc.? Challenges?)

What else related to monk do you want to discuss?

P.S. Religious Monk Mode: I enjoy Desert Fathers sayings: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desert_Fathers#Excerpts_from_The_Sayings_of_the_Desert_Fathers
