Yes, it is the most painful experience of my life. Fucks you up on every possible level. I'm currently suffering because I know mine is genuinely good on some level and I do love her. She's just so full of skewed perceptions and paranoia that it's an impossible situation. We fight all the time these days. I know I have to get out immediately, but it tears my heart out. five years. What makes it so upsetting is all the "good" times which you really started to believe in and think were real. "Ah, someone finally understands and loves the real me"-- that kind of crap.

Good grief, and to think that I went in to this with a red pill consciousness. I'm a strong man being made weak, and that's unacceptable. I just hate the thought of being depressed for a year after we end it. Like, really, is there some cosmic necessity that I must go through this shit right now? Yet end it I must.

Of course, there's no such thing as an amicable split with a Borderline. They do the most damage when it ends. That's when you realize that all of idealization on their part was just bullshit, and they will start attacking you in the most vicious and astonishing ways.

I will get through this. But I'm fifty years old, and having this kind of heartbreak and mindfuck is just a daunting thought. It makes me think that life is fucking pointless. Both my parents are dead and I have no human contacts, so I guess that's how I fell into this. You have more resilience when you are under 20. It becomes harder to get over this kind of thing at this stage of the game. But yeah, I know I will just be another boyfriend who "mentally abused her," (for standing up for myself when she makes false accusations etc.) she's the victim, etc. When I've never been anything but honorable and loving.

Anyhow, no one who loves a Borderline will ever be the same afterwards. If you are just using her for sex, that's OK. It's when you start to care that your heart gets torn out. I will survive this, but I sympathize with you others who are going through the same thing. Just when you think you have the best thing in the world, it turns into the worst nightmare imaginable. I'm an good and insightful person, but this is seriously fucking with my perception of reality.

I have to cut the tie however. It never gets better with these people. My heart totally goes out to anyone who had the tragedy of actually marrying a Borderline woman. I can think of nothing worse.

I should add that there is NO question I would have been better off if i'd never gotten in to this. I used to be utterly independent, happy in my solitude, fascinated by the world, literature, nature, poetry, and five hundred other things. (I couldn't write poem now, or enjoy a camping trip to save my life!) Now I feel more alone than I ever have.

The Greek word "ataraxia" means "freedom from care". Like when you don't need anything or anyone, and have a general sense of well-being and "alrightness". For you youngsters who are asking yourself, "Is being with a woman better than being utterly alone in the world?", I would strongly urge you to choose being alone. Develop the stoic virtues and learn to be fascinated by a large number of things. Investigate the world and take what pleasure you can get from that pursuit. If you choose a woman, you will end up as some version of me. Discombobulated, and unable to feel the simple pleasure that an independent man gets from drinking his coffee and watching the world go by. Choose ataraxia over females. The point being that the two are diametrically opposed, and you MUST choose. Unless, of course, you take the perilous path of PUA and keep your heart detached. But most of us, I suspect, are not so good at that, nor does it sound particularly appealing to most us MGTOWS/INTJs.

Some day I hope to be myself again, but it's going to take a lot of time. For those with a choice, there is absolutely no reason for putting yourself through this. Fucking trust me.
