This morning I got a message through Facebook (I know, social media) from a long-time friend, let's call her "Kelly".

She asks why I'm hating her posts (I'm not), then proceeds to insult my faith, my knowledge, my personality, and generally what I've come to know as the "typical tolerance treatment" when challenged intellectually.

For context, she knows I'm pro-faith, pro-science, pro-humanity, etc. We got into theater together, and we got along great. Her boyfriend "Ian" and her were inseparable in the best sense. Then she gets together with another fellow I've never met and their baby is about to turn three.

We lost touch a few years ago and her next message was basically how she's going to block me because she never liked me anyway.

I am a sweet and sensitive soul, and I know, objectively, that it's just Facebook and has no bearing (or accuracy) on myself and the kind of man that I am.

It just hurts, you know? Someone you thought you knew suddenly "backstabbing" you...

So, is there something I'm missing? If this is confusing I can explain further.
