Finance - Only invest in property which reduces, not increases operational expenditure as much as possible - these are your assets, everything else is a liability. It doesn't matter how much your house is worth, if it increases your cost of living for a good 20 years, it's not worth it. Likewise, your car should exist to save money (relative to what you earn per hour) over equivalent transportation options. Apply a similar logic to services too. Do they help more than hinder you? Internet access is a good example of a service which reduces your overheads and saves more time than the cost of the subscription.
Employment - consistently exceed your job role. Make it obvious that you're a fundamental business problem solver and not a mere serf. Being good at your existing role is meaningless in a world where technology regularly makes entire classes of work redundant. Learn what makes your bosses boss tick and learn to essentially "read minds" by studying how businesses operate. They make up a good third of your prime time.
Personal Life - Go to bed early and get up early so you can get your routine housework done in the early hours of the morning before you start your day. Always ensure all tasks you perform in your personal life are atomic, they're either complete or they aren't, don't leave anything "half done". Treat everyone with kindness and respect (unless they wrong you), you never know what the future brings. However, your true friends must always be treated as your equal (nothing greater, nothing lesser), if a true friend is fucking up, you let them know, even if the truth hurts. For everyone else, leave them to their own folly, it's none of your business.
