Gentlemen. I'll try to keep it brief. I was single for almost 10 years, and other than a few passing moments of loneliness I enjoyed the freedom of doing what I want, when I wanted to. Earlier this year, I was introduced to someone through a mutual friend.

She was very interested in going out with me, but we didn't really have anything in common, and i wasn't even all that attracted to her. My gut told me it was a bad idea. I went against my gut like an idiot and asked her out. We ended up dating for about 6 months, and I was already starting to feel miserable as soon as a month into it once the "honeymoon" phase really started to wear off.

It got so bad that I dreaded getting off work and going home because I knew she'd expect me to call her as soon as I got home and listen to her drone on about bullshit I didn't care about. I hated that she constantly had to be in contact with me, be it text or phone call. I hated how she was already talking about marriage and moving in together and all the things SHE wanted, she didn't really give a shit what I wanted, she just assumed I would bow to her every demand. Just the thought of spending the rest of my life with her made me physically sick to my stomach.

I waited way too long to break it off. Once that happened, I felt a sense of euphoria that I've only felt a few times in my life. The absolute joy of freedom. These past few months without her have been spectacular. This whole thing was a great lesson for me. It helped me understand how free I really was as a MGTOW. I didn't truly value my freedom until I lost it.

Gentlemen, never ignore your gut.
