I have a strange relationship with my aloneness. Most times I feel present and grounded but lately, I've been kind of lost in my thoughts. The way I see it, there's a difference between aloneness and loneliness. Aloneness is when you're alone and you're content with being with yourself. Loneliness is being alone and wishing someone else was there. And lately I've been feeling the latter.

I go to uni and I see all these physically attractive girls but I know there is not much of a point in pursuing them because we won't be on the same wavelength (the whole 'pretty face, ugly person' thing). I know how women are so that should be enough to make me stop desiring to connect with one because it is highly unlikely that I'll meet a girl I find attractive beyond her looks but yet, I have this natural desire to pursue. It's this loneliness that's been lingering in the back of my mind these past few days.

I don't mind being alone, I actually prefer it. It's just that sometimes I wish there was this other person I found attractive and whose company I enjoyed.

Edit: I forgot to shamelessly plug this song I wrote a while ago about being Better Alone.
