This "I feel like..." has been bothering me for years and I wanted to share with you how I've been countering this dumbass sort of reasoning. I say dumbass because to feel or experience emotion(s) is not to reason.

Emotions are not arguments

Anyway, the use of something like, "I feel like you don't care about me" is example of improper use of words to which my usual response is, "What you said is not a feeling nor an argument, try again".

Here is a list of basic emotions: fear, anger, sadness, joy, disgust, surprise, trust, and anticipation.

Knowing that, once can say, "I feel sad because I think you don't care about me". Now, I can properly respond and say, "I don't care about you and I hope you feel better".

Finally, the one that bothers me most: "I feel like this bridge can support my weight". Ugh, so much ugly right there. Going back the the list of feelings, you can really quickly tell that this person is in fact thinking (poorly, fair enough) and misusing the word "feel".

I hope you've enjoyed this because I think it's useful knowledge to this prevalent misuse of the feelz. Otherwise hit that down-vote button if you wish to make me feel :(
