What is this based off of? I see this stat a lot. I could counter that times throughout history were much harder, meaning many men may have died before having kids relative to women, and often there was far less means for any given man to provide for a family. Secondly, there were tons of super rich powerful dudes with multiple wives/harems who produced far more progeny than most men combined, thus pushing X amount of men out of the game by themselves. I don’t think you can blame women as much as you can the social structure that created those disparities in power/means. Women often wouldn’t have a choice in that scenario but like the smart decision is definitely going with the rich and powerful dude over poverty. Today’s modern western issue with mating is unique to our time alone I think. Maybe there’s parallels in the past in some ways, but women have never had the ability to so easily provide for themselves, be safe, terminate unwanted pregnancies, avoid any responsibility, and abuse men with little to no consequences all the while receiving unilteral privileges from men and the government for just existing.

So dying is better for men than just not having any mating opportunities? Point is life was difficult for males they died early and still do.

And since a male couldn't provide he didn't reproduce. Sounds like men were being screwed and women got a good deal by having a rich man provide?

"Tons of super rich powerful dudes"? For every one super rich powerful dudes there was "100 poor powerless dudes". Polygamy isn't designed for men, it is designed for women to have access to super rich powerful dudes.

Of course we can't blame women we must blame The System/The Patriarchy right?

Women have always had plenty of choices. They have a monopoly on the vagina market.

They had the choice of being with a super rich man but 100 men had no choice.

So women had no choice they were just super smart though?

Women for whatever reasons (the fault of men or women or both it doesn't matter) have always been able to know if a child is theirs. Men have never had that luxury, a man has never throughout history been able to prove he had a child until now. Therefore women have always been able to cuckold men.

That is also the reason 100% of human DNA comes from women 40% of men were eliminated from the gene pool.

I never said dying was preferable. Of course it isn't. The problem with any social structure/system is it reinforces itself most of the time/self perpetuates because individuals have no real power to change it and it is in their best interest to conform to it. If you were a women and had your choice of a poor man or a rich and powerful one, you would choose the latter. Yes, it'd be nice to equal the playing field and develop a society with enforced monogamy as most cultures did (up until recently), but one person can't do that. Most people (men and women) would rather take the easy route anyways, even if they could change it. I'm with you, I can logically see how enforced monogamy is preferential as a society from both a personal values and game theory perspective, but most people are too selfish. Women for the most part want to be with as many men and as rich and good looking men as possible (most men would be this way too with women, if they could, and they usually do when they can), but it obviously has detrimental effects on society when this is allowed to happen willy nilly, let alone encouraged as it is today. It sucks to be looking on this game from the outside until you realize you really are better without it even if you are one who can have as much sex as you could want. The peace of mind, meaning/purpose, and ability to grow and develop yourself are severely constrained when pursuing a hedonistic and/or vapid lifestyle. You are free to become something so much more. It's painful and difficult, but anything worth pursuing is. That's what gives it meaning. You have to truly see this and embrace it before it can happen. I think a lot of people are only saying they are pursuing this to resolve their cognitive dissonance of not being able to attain a relationship/sex, but that only hurts you because deep down you know this is what you are doing, if you're doing this. I'm not saying you are, but we all deal with this and it's something I'm trying to work through.
