“Quick” is typically not the right thing to optimize for, imo.

What are you passionate about? What are you better than average at?

Tradesman (masonry, finish work, concrete work) get paid really well here, but might require you to be understudy to an elite pro for a while.. .

Register as an apprentice. The journeyman salary starts around $20/hr (in Canada)

I’m in “trades” but not what you’d normally think. Automation technician. Basically maintaining industrial equipment.

The entire industry is desperate for manpower and if you are decent with your hands and have basic knowledge, but more importantly, willing to learn, a lot of places will train you.

This has been my mantra for a while.

If you are mechanically inclined, you’ll do ok. If you also know electrical as well, you’ll do well If you also know electronics and controls you’ll be able to find s job any day of the week And if you also know how to program PLC (programmable logic control = software for machinery) you might as well have a money printing machine at home.

Look at auto electrics or anything automotive such as heavy diesel , lots of mine sites are going into autonomous haulage equipment that need tradesman to maintain.

A lot of large mine-sites provide either camp accommodation , food etc . The FIFO lifestyle allows you to make a lot of money as you dont have the ability or places to spend the money you make. 2 weeks on / 1 week off .

If you set up a 5 - 8 year plan , and be smart about it , you can be set pretty easily.

Building your skillset then puts you in high demand to be able to take expat roles anywhere in the world. You could do a contract role for 3- 6 months in SE Asia , then spend 3-4 months travelling around very cheaply.

The beauty is you can go anywhere the work is . Set yourself up a base (wherever you want ) like an apartment or rural property that is lock and leave.

Get your resume together, do interviews. Only leave your current job after you have a better offer.
