You never quit your last job until you have the new job already secured.

Lesson learned but you could have learned the same from a google search.

I would strongly recommend first finding something that you like to do. Then figure out how to make it into something you can get paid to do.

If your financial situation is dire you may have no choices.

My suggestion won't help you at all.

never quit a job without having one lined of first. I don't mean "you interviewed", I mean you actually start doing work for money, then you quit the other job.

Never just quit thinking you might get a better job. Until there is verified proof, you don't quit another job first.

Otherwise, 9 times out of 10, what happened to you happens.

As far as what to do now? Start looking for another job. Start immediately, and I mean tomorrow morning.

Military isn't a bad option either. I did six years in the military traveled the world. If you do go that route just don't get married learned that the hard way.

Find out who is hiring in your area. Banks are usually a good shot. A year of making change and proving you can follow basic instructions is helpful.

I’d look at the big chains as far as fast food and even look at hardware stores or gas stations (actual chains, not ones owned by private parties). McDonald’s offers college tuition for community college and other perks if you can manage getting yelled at by customers. Home Depot and Lowe’s used to offer tuition assistance. Sheetz, Speedway, and Racetrac all used to offer tuition reimbursement.

My point is... if you show up, do your job half way decent, and ASK/SHOW you want to promote... there is often a good chance.

First off don't worry mate. Over time you see how money is important only to sustain life. It is life itself that is important and valuable. As long as you are a smart guy, the only thing that can stop you in life is yourself.

Try a construction job, learn a trade by starting as a laborer.

There is always someone building houses, remodeling, or commercial construction who needs basic labor.

Assuming you can stand hard, dirty, hot, and sweaty environment, a trade is a good thing to have.

Look around for factory/warehouse/UPS-FedEx jobs. Build your credit. Take a few months or even years to found out for yourself what is really important to you.

Get a job as a forklift driver at a warehouse, it pays around 16$/hour as starting salary and in some places they upgrade you to even more as you gain experience. That is the job that I currently have and since I live with my parents, I am saving lots of money, I used to be a neet for nearly 3 years, then I suddenly started working 4 months ago, I got the job on sites like Indeed, that is the best way to find a job, I didnt even have much experience in other jobs but I hade a very good resume because I got help from some government workers, your city may have the same option to improve your resume, once your resume is improved, it is very easy to find a job on indeed, you can often apply in just a few seconds, when I was searching for a job, I sent out 25 resumes and then I got around 12 phone calls, I got a few interviews and with huge luck I got the best company of the 25 to hire me.

Right now I am saving up while waiting until next winter semester to finally start my college studies, once I finish them in a couple years, I will finally move out of my parents house. If you have the chance to do the same then do it because living on your own while making a low salary is a miserable life, you wont be able to save anything or do anything fun in your free time and you wont be able to retire. If you do go to college, major in STEM, if you want more advice check out Aaron Clarey's youtube channel and his book called "Worthless: The indispensible guide to finding the right major", his book "Bachelor Pad Economics" is my favorite and in my opinion, the most important book for all young men to read.

Everyone will have opinionated and biased advice that often echos what they did in real life.

Anyway

- If you want to stay in your culture / country and don't want to work in an office then look at blue collar / construction.- If you want to emigrate then look at Digital Nomad / remote programming work or using Youth Visas to try a year in a place like Australia and so on.

- If you're more ballzy - you can get a youth visa to Taiwan and Korea and try to work under the table for English schools and do tutoring for money.

Even though I have a degree - I sorta wonder if it was really worth the amount of time and effort I put into it and very few decent gigs available to it unless one follows up with a post-degree in Accounting / Law (and even then the results vary amongst people).

Sign up for a nearby community college. If you really come from a low income household, you'll pay virtually nothing. I recommend finding a program you like and try getting some sort of short term 6-8 month certification. Fields like IT, HVAC, or an EMT license can have you starting at upwards of 16-18/hr+ depending on where you live. Once you figure out what you have a passion for, continue on to either do a part-time bachelor's / associate's, or you can go the trade school route. Either way, by the time you're 20/22 years, you should be making $20+/hr based on your couple years of job experience.

My biggest suggestion would be to improve yourself first, please, please, don't make dumb decisions. You're at an age where major fuck ups can ruin the next 20+ years of your life. Limit the amount of partying, limit the amount you spend on drugs, do not smoke, do not drink, once you have an established foundation, then you can possibly come up with ideas on how to express yourself through your expenses. For now, grind out school. And please, don't own a car if you don't need to, once you have a car, then comes the financial responsibility of maintenance.
