So I'm a buff college dropout (age 21) with severe ADHD and I'm still living at home. I'm going to trade school to become an electrician at the moment, don't have a job, and parents are pushing me out slowly. I fucking hate electrician shit and I could work in the industry but I'm not that good at it. I do however love guns and I have applied to 2 gunsmithing schools; one in bumfuck oklahoma and one in colorado springs. This is where I need help. Money isnt an issue.

The school in colorado is in a bigger city of 500k people, is 15 months long, and is a trade school. Its classes are 4 days a week for 8 hours a day, but my friends who went there said it taught them enough, but could have taught more. Also it doesnt give me any college credits and the fact that its easier may mean that I wont feel as driven, but also may make it easier to focus. This being said I can work while I'm in school due to it being 4 days a week.

The school in oklahoma is in the middle of bumfuck nowhere and is an univeristy. Its an 2.5 year ordeal and makes me take prerequisites. My local gunsmith went there and he said it taught him a huge amount of information, but was an heavy course load. The program is very well funded and most of the work is hands on in the machine shop where we build our own guns as assignments. Jobs in the town are nonexistant, as it has an population of 2000 people, which means i'll be reliant on my parents even longer. Also the only gym in town sucks, which means I'll be relegated to using gymnast rings.

I love guns and can study them for hours. The question is, should I take the easy path in colorado or the hard one in oklahoma... and is the hard path even worth it if they both lead to the same place? Or is it about overcoming a great obstacle... or was that trash fed to me by traditional education and I should go to the colorado trade school? Or will the diploma from a university help me in the long run?
