this is not a bad decision sorry again to have a different and more positive look on this, but let's think for a second:

he has a ton of free time, he may say he does all those chores, but if you're efficient, those things take about two... TWO hours a day
compare 2 hours a day doing light work, with 8-10 hours office work, not even close
you can say "I do all the chores" then automate most of them and chill/play games all day long
there is absolutely no way she will divorce him, because she will have to pay him alimony, and there is even a big change he will keep the children
plenty of time for: gaming, freelancing, hobbies, sports, hanging out with others...
you're not stressed about money, she is!

If it's not finances, it's going to be something else on the table. Not going to say it can't work, but it will still have some kind of (equivalent) price to it.

The easiest situation is that he has family that brings higher political or social status. So a parent or sibling on a county seat, or perhaps somebody in executive tier at a well known company. (That gets her connected by virtue of him.) And on top of that he somehow has the luck to be able to push one of her "freak on" buttons. (Makes it harder for her to get bored or stay mad over stupid stuff.) Then that is as close to a free ride as he could get.

Otherwise it's basically taking on the role of a live-in domestic. Which means that house and lawn will have to be kept up to near absolutely spotless. More than half the dinners made (if not eating out a lot), and doing the laundry and similar chores like that. And if he slacks off and/or they have a big enough argument, then it's not going to end too well. Difficulty here depends on if she's a slob or neat-freak (either way the place will still have to meet her expectation), whether or not she's into buying junk (more clutter and hoarding - harder to clean and much less room for anything on his end), and how hard her temper is to set off.

So it's not impossible to work, but there's more to it. That puts you on the spectrum from reasonably tenable to outright slave.

If she's on the road all the time, then she does what she wants. The situation then is more like a better couch crashing deal combined with the FWB role. Because she is calling the shots on this. Still that one may not be that awful if you understand what the deal is.

And if she finds somebody that allows her to go up in both financial and social status, then good luck to him. Likely to get dropped like a hot potato at that point.

It can be "winning", however that's an outlier situation. (And it's still possible for it to fall apart all too easy. If/when it does, he probably will not see it coming.)

They should be ashamed. They're mostly all grossly overpaid for the simple and easy as fuck "jobs"(if you can call them that) that they do. Why should a government secretary, who sits on her ass all day, get paid 60 grand a year while the construction labor gets paid 30 grand for working ten times as hard.

I would say that it’s a toss-up.

On the one hand: he is largely protected from the financial raping men invariably get during a divorce. Provided he can clearly demonstrate that he was the homemaker, he might even get alimony, the house and assets, and if children, child support.

On the other hand: she is much less likely to respect him, and be faithful to him. So there is a much higher probability that any children aren’t even his. For his sake I hope she uses protection and stays clean. Super Gonorrhea is spreading like crazy, and the last thing he needs is to catch it from her…
