'Alienation of affection' law and only a handful of states have it still on the books. The jilted spouse can sue a 3rd party who can be proven in court to have been responsible for the adulterous spouse's alienating of their marital affections. In Mississippi I remember seeing a few lawyers advertising on TV their practice in this specific civil action. The commercials were hilarious.

Such laws are based on false attribution of cause to the 3-rd party. The real reson for females cheating is that they have an internal, inbuilt mechanism to provide biodiversity in the next generation. Biodiversity is REQUIRED for the population to be able to survive epidemics. Women automatically work for biodiversity by switching partners after some time, usually 4-7 years. It's a GOOD thing, otherwise our species might be wiped out by dieseases.

Take analogy in animal mammal world - animal females have 1 year switching cycle - they are impregnated each season usually by a different male. Each season is an independant mating. Human females are the same, but their cycle is longer: 4 - 7 years, due to babies taking more to grow up.
