If you ever feel the need to hit someone in anger over them saying something to you you either didnt evict them from your life soon enough, or you lack the intelligence to get them to do what you want. Of course if you don't want to spend energy manipulating someone to behave the way you want then you shouldnt be dealing with them in the first place.

The other circumstance is that if they're that shitty of a human being you feel inclined to violence in their presence you, once again, shouldn't be around them and cut them out. You're just as responsible for putting yourself knowingly in a situation as the other person is for the actions they commit. If you know they're scum, don't engage. Choosing to engage will only drag you down.
