In my opinion, it's getting too risky having short-term sexual encounters in the current #Metoo climate, where there is a real potential for false accusations of sexual assault. I've been thinking of some ways to avoid getting involved in short-term flings, and came up with the following:

  1. Don't flirt

  2. Limit use of alcohol in pubs/clubs, where my inhibitions are loosened and women can control my physiology with the flaunting of their bodies

  3. Have a cover story; e.g, "I have a girlfriend"

  4. Tell friends and colleagues "I'm having a break for a while" of dating

  5. In my personal life, avoid women who might be interested in me, or who are single and actively looking for some action/a relationship
