We all can re-frame how we look at things and our thoughts affect how we perceive the world.

I hand you a penny and you see a pretty worthless piece of metal.

I tell you it’s a 1945 wheat penny worth over a million dollars and suddenly it looks really different.

I’m noticing that I’m able to do the same thing with women and their bodies. We as men are trained to lust after their bodies specifically because they keep certain parts hidden. But I think you can undo that training. I’m not so sure sexual attraction is actually as strong and innate as we think it is.

If anyone has gone to a nude figure drawing class you know you can “turn off” your boner somehow no matter how attractive the model and no matter how closely you stare at their tits.

I’m watching a channel on Pluto right now that has models dancing like idiots in bikinis 24/7. But if I just remind myself that that’s just a human body like mine that shits and farts and that boobs are just bags of fat, that there’s nothing magical about a female body, I can pretty much turn off the attraction and just neutrally observe another human being. So much of femininity and sexiness is totally socially constructed- a certain glance, a certain movement of the hips, etc. but if you just see it as meaningless gyration, it loses its power.

Women are said to have the upper hand in relationships and life because men are unable to control their sexuality and women can. Well, I think we are likely just as capable of it, and I wonder if a certain ability tap into asexuality is a potential source of power. Thoughts?
