Hello Gents, I'm a longtime lurker and small time poster. Today I just ended my years long relationship.

She was my first girlfriend and like most of you the beginning was great and I had no problems and was actually considering marriage. Somehow I stumbled upon MGTOW and it completely changed how I viewed the dynamic of my relationship.

I realized that I was the MVP of the relationship. I did everything I could to keep her happy and began to understand that it wasn't being reciprocated. I kept myself happy. I also began catching her in lies about people she had slept with in the past ,even people she assured me she hadn't had sex with. I also realized how controlling she was. When going out with her friends and family she would try to tell me what to wear, what not to talk about, never to bring up politics (I'm a conservative). We also stopped talking about goings on in the world because as she once said "I still want to love you when the conversations over"

Eventually (mostly thanks to you gents) we had gradually less sex. It just wasnt worth the risk of pregnancy. And she also told me that she thought she was Bisexual (which was something she wasn't sure about early on).

A few days ago she came home from work and complained that she didnt feel sexually wanted. And that sex made her feel good. At that point I knew it would be better off If I went my own way.

Today I packed everything, told her what was going on. After a teary conversation on both ends I broke it off and went my own way. It is bittersweet as I am leaving behind a good life and a cute feline friend I will probably never see again. It also feels like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders and it feels like I can breath again.
