hell of a "workout" to grab a shovel for a couple hours...

I can shovel out 4.5 tons of COAL (a full dumptruck...) by myself. Doesnt take me that long either... i just dont kiss my biceps and pose for pictures on a smartphone like a woman, when i do it, LMAO... Plus? I am 50 y/o with 3 major joint injuries now... and i can STILL do it...

to me? real masculinity? is you just "go and do it", and you dont have to make a facebook post about it...

When I lived up north as a kid and young adult, I had to shovel my parents drive, walkway and sidewalks when we had them. We had an old heavy snow shovel my grandfather gave us, and a couple of the new lighter aluminum ones. Even after I moved out, I'd drive to their house to shovel them out. I also mowed the lawn with a push mower (gas but not self propelled). Dad would help but as we both got older, I did more.

When I eventually moved far away to the south, my dad bought a riding lawn mower and a big-ass snow blower. When I found out, I asked, "why didn't you do that years ago?" He said, "why? I had you around!" LOL. Well he was older so no harm, makes me laugh when I think about it.

edit: I'll add, when we were out shoveling snow, Mom and my younger sister would be cooking, baking or both, and we'd have hot cocoa when we were done or took a break. Hard to believe the way women are today.

I tell my son this is why you charge for your time :) they want the driveway and walkways shoveled...ok, that's 20-30 bucks for that hour of your effort...easy money.
