Bro, I respectfully disagree. I think the entire movie was written as an SJW wet dream. It's a hit piece on single white men. It's trying to convince society that MGTOWs , incels, and any white male who doesn't buy into the bullshit system is a deranged lunatic. This movie plays right into the "ban guns because incels are mass shooters" rhetoric. And also, "white man bad".
In my opinion it's an honest look at what creates psychopaths and mass shooters. It's not a hero and villain story.

Saw it last night. Still kind of sad when I think about it. Left a sense of hopelessness in the pit of my stomach. If Joaquin Phoenix doesn't win an Oscar for his portrayal I'd be shocked.
What's really sad if that I can imagine men in similar positions to his going through circumstances like his every day in the real world.
