I'll quote myself from a while ago:

I have both a cat and a dog.

Cats represent the female gender completely. They will ignore you until they want something (try skipping a meal and watch them suddenly rub all over you and purr and give you affection). Once they get what they want from you it's back to ignoring you. Or if somebody walks in the door with some cat food they will stop rubbing and loving on you and run straight to them and do the same.

Dogs are like the human male. They are loyal and faithful to you no matter what. They will defend you and your home and treat you as their leader. A dog that loves you would never abandon you.

Also, if you die, your cat will start eating you. Your dog will most likely starve to death before eating you. etc. etc.

Still, all life is precious, and should be treated as such. Provide and encourage as much growth of life as possible. At least, that's what I do.

Cats are very loyal and sensitive animals. They just don’t have the “pack” instinct of dogs and are naturally more independent. They don’t obey orders or have the hierarchical mindset of dogs. Cats are freedom.

I’d rather my cat eat me when I die, rather than she miserably dying of hunger. A dead person is just a lump of meat nothing more. Animals are more pragmatic than us...

"how Dare he ignore me!" Acting all suprised and then try their best to get your attention.

Just to go back to square one once you give it to them:

"oh my gawd! Why is he bothering me! Leave me alone!"

And the cycle goes on and on and on and on...

Yep cats are definitely like women. Take them in off the street and they will worm their way into your heart.

I was always a dog person until I had to deal with an out of control cat colony that lives behind my business. I've taken a couple in and they ended up being very loyal and loving towards me. The one at work sleeps on my desk all day and the one a home she sleeps with me every night.

I can't tell you how many women I know that brought a cat into their house only to find their husband furious and wanting the cat out of there. A month later guess who's best friends and inseparable with the husband, the cat.
