The hyper-individualistic society we live in makes this rather easy tho.
I simply dgaf what others think of me. And everyone else is the same.
When it comes down to it, (almost) nobody cares.
Life is so much simpler and more satisfying on my own.

I agree. It's easy. But people seem addicted to making their lives more difficult.

I think part of it has to do with bullshit unrealistic idealism fed by culture.
"Imagine the perfect life you just described, where you get to do whatever you want to, BUT with a companion who does everything with you" which is pretty fucking bullshit -
The people I like traveling with, eating with, playing video games with, laughing with and trust my life with are NOT the people I am sexually attracted to and want to get into bed with.
In fact placing the additional burden of having an everlasting attraction with that person is bound to ruin all those other things you MIGHT have in common, because they go from being unconditional to being contingent upon sexual satisfaction, which - lets face it - can last as long as a few hours.
The dream that society sells as the ultimate goal for everyone has some pretty fucking impossible odds - the person I want to have sex with also needs to be able to satisfy me sexually in every way and must share every interest I have and be supportive of every decision I take. I also need to exclusively find only THIS ONE woman sexually attractive for the rest of my life. This is without considering all the ways it can go horribly wrong.
Fuck hollywood and mainstream culture for making people believe that this is possible and that you're a failure if you can't get this

Also consider that when you check all the boxes that society dictated you fulfill, you are essentially left with "Well, what now?" and that means death. Having a carrot on a stick perpetually is the distraction from death. It was known from the beginning that there was never an ultimate, happy state. It was necessary to tell the people stories.

Ironically the death conundrum is what finally led me to let go of marriage forever. I like the freedom of being able to do what I want when I want. The thought of getting married and being stuck in monotony kills me. Some people might call it an abstract freedom, but I like being completely free to relocate where-ever I want to, learn something new, try something fun without "discussing" it with another person and having them veto it. If this is all there is, fucked if I'm going to spend the bulk of my adult life in suburban monotony.
In my opinion the single cause of unhappiness is people believing that love and marriage are the only things that fulfill a life. Sure oxytocin and endorphin are important - get a dog, go bungee jumping, sleep with an escort. Don't chain yourself to a worst case spirit sucking succubus, best case monotonous life partner.

Esther is ironically ahead of most men mgtow idols. On point man, this woman was ahead of her time and of course her sex.

If a man said what this broad did, no publisher would touch it, as he would be an evil sexist pig. She only has any legitimacy, she only is a semi-known person because of her gender. Men who are smarter than her about these things are working blue collar jobs or living in a shante-town outside of johanasburg or jakarta

One of the few women that I actually respect for their work.
[–]roflcopt0rz_returns22 points23 points24 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Society can only thrive if men sacrifice themselves for it.
Women can only thrive if men sacrifice themselves for them.
That's why neither entity want the free man who puts himself first.
For awhile, both entities used to bribe men with enough goods where the man agreed to the sacrifice, i.e. authority over women and their children. In the current year, every single incentive and bribe is gone for men to stay. And when you can provide literally nothing, the only thing left is shaming language.

That is why we should be ghosts.

This woman, changed my life.

I would only add something...
If a marriage meant that after my soul-destroying, slave wage job shift, at home waits for me my loving, down to earth wife with a dinner, truly caring for me and my children....a true family with values and foundation, I would endure anything.
But that times are no more...if these times ever were. So it's logical to get your own way. (Wow it even rhymed a bit XD)

this is kind of an overstatement. If you want to live alone, live alone, nobody’s gonna tell you anything, because why would they care?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I have freedom and peace and money why the hell would I mess that up?

Maybe back in Esther's day. I mostly hear praise for my single life. The only person saying I should find a nice girl and have kids is my mom.

My life my choice. Suck it, bitches.
