It's happened to me and I didn't bat an eye. Humans aren't perfect, but I guess they are snowflakes...
It really does seem to me as people are assuming the worst case scenario. A closed off trunk (not like in the picture in which you can freely crawl out of), left there for hours, possibly by someone who doesn't care about you, hot weather, etc. Well, in any case, if you're a perfect being then you can ignore this comment.

You're right though, the genders don't matter. However I don't think it's criminalizing women, as you've said anyone would be mad, including men. In my opinion what the quote is attempting to do is to take humans off the pedestal, including women, and as weird as it sounds, humanize them. I think it's pretty obvious that humans do not love unconditionally, in fact, if you look at the vast majority of long term relationships 'love' wouldn't be the first word to describe them.
In other words, what the quote is saying is that humans are very much human. Given that this was posted in this sub, it's meaning is somewhat altered to say that women are also human, which is in fact true.
To think of this as sexist is to seriously misunderstand the authors intentions.

I have eastern european parents that very much have strict gender roles. Theres a difference between having gender roles and wanting your wife to be a fuck doll that cooks and cleans and acts like your mommy. My dad washes dishes and cleans on weekends when he knows my mom has worked hard all week. He was a roofer for 25 years. I dont know if you’re like the rest of the people on this sub, but judging by the fact that you compared a dogs reaction to being locked in a trunk to that of a human being, makes me think so. You do realize dogs probably dont fucking understand that you locked them in, or why you locked them in? They might think you’re protecting them from something or maybe they think its nap time. I was explaining what an Incel was, not describing myself (man, you're really looking for something to latch on to). I'm actually pretty good looking, I've had girls come to me interested but I've turned them down as I've been pretty busy. With only minor tweaking this quote would make so much more sense. Why not, “You leave your wife and dog at home. Two hours later, who is still happy to see you?” Because if you return home and your wife doesn’t greet you with happiness, that really does show a problem. Switching car to house carries less of a “baby forgotten in hot car” vibe...
