I really want to work on building more self worth/ confidence. By all measures I should be one confident cocky asshole SOB, I’ve developed a career all on my own with shitty parenting, worked on many awesome projects in STEM, and bought my own house and have a ton of cash for a kid my age.

But I don’t project any of that into confidence at a level I’d like. I think because of a humble upbringing(family is poor, literally could’ve flipped burgers and my dad would’ve been content), I always feel I can do better or I am not doing enough. I am very hard on myself.

Also, I think because of how hard I worked, I am VERY hard on other people to the point where interacting with them gives me unreasonable expectations of their character and I more often than not, write them off. This has caused me to miss it on developing relationships.

TLDR how do I truly NOT care what others think.

Any good books worth reading? I tend to HATE self help books because I think most are just feel good emotional crap, instead of hard pressed logic that I relate better to. Thanks for reading guys.
