this is just part theory part rambling, this has always been a good forum to share my thoughts for these types of things, so here we go.
Many of the older folk, especially in the boomer generation are what we here call "blue pilled" or "cucks". i work for one of those people, decent man, a few divorces, royally fucked in each divorce but can't seem to stop marrying skanks. then i realized that there are a lot of boomer men like that, even after being through the meatgrinder of divorce, they willingly sign up for it again. so i thought about this, and i realized something.
feel free to disagree with me but men tend to solidify their identities in their mid to late 20s, that's when the male's personality traits and habits becomes more "solidified" and it becomes a little harder to change your views or form new habits. some people call this "being set in your ways". sure we can still learn and process new information, but that's when our belief structure, value system, moral basis are all formed and consolidated.
older generation's men married young, typically sometime in their early to mid 20s. their morals and value system become solidified as they were entering marriage, and being a husband and father became a part of these men's identity, which is ripped away from them once they find themselves divorced. this explains why older men keep going back to the altar to get fucked, they literally can't see themselves as anything other than husband and father, and to lose their position as one is akin to losing a well paying job you've had for life. by "training" the men of early generations to be unable to cope without marriage, women guaranteed themselves a large supply of second husbands to choose from, but this guarantee still came at a cost of the women marrying young themselves. when marriage is a part of your generation's identity, a big round of divorces is merely a reshuffling of the deck. it's not the boomer men's fault that their world view is so blue pilled, they didn't have the chance to develop an identity as a single man because they were corralled en masse into marriage.
enter the millennial generation. it's no secret that millennial men and women are delaying marriage, there's no reason in debating the exact cause of this, but women are definitely letting a lot of men reach their late 20s without ever having been in any kind of committed relationship. mgtow, pua, trp, all stem from this. more and more males of the millennial generation are developing identities as single men, and more and more males are embracing all the wonderful things that being single has to offer. trp and pua get lots of unattached women, mgtow gets the freedom to lay back and do lots of cool things. even incels, pathetic as they may be, are also forced to develop an identity on their own that do not involve commitment to a woman.
what does this mean for the future? women are already having a hard time dragging their men to the altar, and fewer and fewer men are willing to go for it. and should the men attempt marriage and fail, they'll just keep going back to being a single man and move on, because they've developed an identity as a single man.
women are in for some rough times, the fact that men are developing single men identities and generally knowing their worth is starting to set up another situation where women are slowly starting to realize that what they thought was a husband market was actually a shittier carousel, but that's a discussion for another thread.
kinda rambly but what do you think?
tldr: baby boomers keep getting married because they never had the opportunity to develop identities as men, just as husbands and fathers, therefore they keep getting married despite the consequences. millennials are developing identities as men due to the pushing back of marriage age.
