Season 2 feels like it was directed by someone that was a fan of whomever directed season 1, and because season 1 was so phenomenally good, it makes season 2 look far, far worse than it actually is. It's like Sicario 2.

No shit! Sicario 1 was incredible and intense. The sequel had me scratching my head and asking myself “ what the fuck is this shit?!” Same thing happened to Jack Reacher, first one was great and the second was pure garbage.

I loved season 2. I don't think it's fair to compare it with S1. They both have different vibes. If I recall, the second half of S2 is pretty intense.

any mgtow who hasn't seen True Detective S1 it is a MUST watch, as both male characters are total mgtow, one used to be married and one never was, and its very interesting what the show says about the evolution of these men as moral heroes, but also as men that suffered in their family life as a result.
Good link (scene!). Most of guys would either yell at her or slapped her. Rust was too smart for that, he left her in her own bullshit and powerless.
I would literally do the same, as I always did in the past. Killing them softly while they try to throw shit at you.
Btw, they were both married, Rust divorced after his kid died.
