One of the many delusional premises in this story is that a man following the Pence rule will have no interactions with women, who then will not be able to attest to his probity and fairness. This is false; the interactions will simply be more public in nature, while being observed by others.

I moved to a modified Pence rule in my businesses after two attempted shakedowns by "employment law" attorneys who were farming lower level females. No closed doors, zero fraternization outside the office, only group gatherings, all lower-level female staff reported only to women. I also adopted a policy of zero settlements, telling the shakedown lawyers that we will defend everything in court, so gear up for an expensive trial (they're contingency-fee driven). For 21 years we had multiple threats of lawsuits; none was settled, none went to trial.

A good friend, a university professor, did the same thing. In the 1990's he was famous in his department for keeping a cinder block in his office, which he would conspicuously place as a doorstop whenever a female came in to see him. Feminists first shamed him for it, then claimed that open-door meetings were discriminatory. But he runs a major academic center now, and is only threatened with some post-modern intersectional sexist complaint a couple of times a year.

I'm an adjunct now. I take all my meetings with female students or staff in the common areas of the campus, over coffee, at hours when others are around. I avoid the barnburning feminists. My female friends and colleagues are appalled at how the #metoo promoters, how this culture of accusation, are stripping fun and integrity from the workplace.

I think it was Karl Popper who proved that it's impossible to say something in a way that cannot be misunderstood.

The thesis of this article is nonsense, since there is no amount of good behavior that can shield someone from false, partisan accusations.

Conversely, a documented record of never putting one's self into compromising circumstances goes a long way to preventing such allegations to begin with.

If men are avoiding women, they've learned exactly the correct lesson from #MeToo's arbitrary witch hunts.

The problem with this, is that those 65 women and those 84 women didn't really matter. You can have all the women in the world testify that you are great but in the court of public opinion they mean nothing. Ford's testimony had serious problems and she still swayed people. Kavanaugh is only here because Grassley, Collins, and the rest of the Republicans had the guts to stick with him. I highly doubt that any board of directors or CEOs would suffer through the same thing for any innocent executive.

The argument is flawed. If you're never alone with a woman, you won't get accused. Most of us aren't being nominated for the supreme court. And I doubt it was the credibility of Kavanaugh's character witnesses who got him off. It was the complete non-credibility of his accusers.
