• Do no harm

While it is unlikely one can go through life never doing any harm, intentional or otherwise, start now. Do not hit people, do not verbally degrade them. The old adage: If you have nothing nice to say, then say nothing, applies here. Remove yourself from situations where you might be inclined to be violent or do harm, and then avoid them in the future.

  • Be responsible

Be responsible, whatever that means to you and however that applies to your life. This could be providing for your children and family, paying your bills, being a productive and positive contributor at work. Whatever it means for you, be responsible. Do not take on responsibilities you are not prepared to fulfill. This too is being responsible. If you cannot meet a responsibility, do your best to remedy it and make amends.

  • Be a gentleman

Be a gentleman in the classic mode. Open doors for ladies (all of them). Be kind, polite and gracious. Expect nothing in return and do this for yourself and because it is the right thing to do, rather than to impress. Besides, you never know who might be watching you and taking note.

  • Be a provider

Be a provider. This could be for your children and family. This could be anything however, including volunteering or donating money to a cause in some regular fashion, mentoring, etc. Do something regularly to contribute in a positive fashion.
