Fuck. I feel that shit.
The thousands of applications just to get a few jobs to look at you.
The several interviews plus gas money/traffic just to get ignored.
Please...take a break.
I've been on one date so far with a woman I'm trying to get to know. Before then, I was mentally checked out of the dating scene. Too much ghosting, too many lukewarm responses, expired matches...the whole enchilada.
And if it doesnt work out with this woman, I'm fucking taking a break from dating.
Infatuation will blind you into thinking that dating is the greatest shit ever.
No...it really isn't.
It's a perfunctuory act between two people who are deciding if they want to commit to a lifelong partnership. Take away the infatuation and that's all it is.
That's assuming if you're not just out there wanting to get laid or have a FWB type deal, which was never my style. (Nothing wrong with it either)
I'm personally fed up with my emotions getting tangled up because of all of this.
So if you can, please dont rush into a relationship.
If you're feeling rusty, just take a break.
You're not missing out on that much. A healthy relationship can be great, but the dating scene requires a person to be mentally on.
If you see that cute woman or guy, ask yourself if you're even ready to date.
I think when trying to find someone becomes all we think about....that's when it's time to take a break from dating.
Even if it's just 2 weeks.
Masturbate. Exercise. Take care of yourself. Watch that lame movie that only you like, Work on your career or degree, play a stupid video game, go to the zoo...
All this stuff you can do by yourself.
There's nothing wrong with that.
But if you feel like you're just go go going to have that special person in your life, like I've been in the past...that's an awful place to be.
Life wasnt meant to be lived that way. 😂
Take a break and rest if you need to.

The dating market vs. job market comparison isn't really accurate in my experience. The latter was always a lot more fair, rational, and meritocrous than the former. This was the case even at the height of the Great Recession, in the depths of the Rust Belt.
As for today? I honestly couldn't tell you. I have long checked out of the relationshit game and couldn't be happier -- and my net worth has never been higher despite my current payrate being roughly half as it was 5-10 years ago. As it turns out, you can get by on very little as a single man (Who knew?) No need for overly stressful jobs that you dread going to every morning. The husbanks of the world can have those!

You also don't have 80 percent of jobs hiring 20 percent of the people. The top 20 percent of the people will get the best jobs, but they won't be getting all the jobs.

No, but there is a fad going where they hite solely on a diploma and even just one that states bachelor or master. They dont care in what field.
Experience is a thing of the past. Diplomas sell. I see lots of companies go down because managers have no clue whats going on because they are in the wrong job.

Mh. Seems like some of 'em are slowly catching on to that "adulting" they so often bleat about. About time I guess.
