Just stumbled across this amazing sub reddit after realizing I wanted to be a part of MGTOW. Well I guess I can relate to all these horror stories that us men have gone through (but on a smaller scale). A couple years ago in my senior year of high school, this really close girl that I liked for a very long time started giving me indirect hints that I should ask her out to prom...Well being the "gentleman" that I was brought up to be I decided to make it special. I first talked to her friends to ask her what she thought of me personally and I made her friends bring up a bunch of names as well so that she wouldn't be suspicious. Well she said yes when my name popped up in their "girl" talk.

Her "dream" promposal was that it had to be big. I was the quite guy back in high school and knew I had to step it up just for her. Don't ask me why (I know I was fucking stupid) but I decided to borrow 500$ which was A LOT of money for me back then to get all the material I needed. I bought her a bunch of flowers, chocolates, a high end perfume, a teddy bear, Cinnabon (her favorite dessert), and a lot of other stuff. And yes, it was a treasure hunt. I made a bunch of poems/hints leading to all the gifts where one friend would wait at each location just to make sure she was going in the right direction, which would finally end up to the senior corridor where the entire grade was waiting for her with me. Well it all went to plan and she said yes....

Now here's the crazy part. A few weeks later she starts getting more and more distant with me and I found out she was hanging out with my close "friend" that helped me with the entire promposal. Well of course at first I felt sick to my stomach because prom was just around the corner and I thought for once in my life that I finally got a girl to like me back. That feeling kind of went away when I realized that prom was just a day and didn't necessarily mean anything. But this is when it gets even crazier. The girl messages some of my guy friends and starts saying things like "what would happen if I didn't go to prom with him (me)". On the last day of school this is where it gets even worse. She starts DEMANDING that I SHARE her at prom with that douchebag "friend" of mine. Well of course I had enough of her shit, called her a bitch and everything. She then tries offering me all of the half used expensive gifts that I gave her.....

Honestly just imagine it was the other way around for us guys. Like imagine hinting to a girl that you wanted to go to prom with her and she takes the hint, makes a huge ass effort, only for us to start dating her friend right before prom and then demand that they both share us. Needless to say I definitely got my revenge on her a few months later. Long story and I'm not proud of it lol (okay maybe just a little bit). Moral of the story? Fuck women. MGTOW.

Also I did manage to record the ENTIRE promposal as well (but I probably won't share it) due to the fact that not only is it on my old phone, but I din't want to relive those painful memories. cheers!
