Probably the only thing I do miss about the military. Women still always have the way they size each other up constantly, especially when they first meet each other, to establish relative threat levels to their place on whatever hierarchy they care about.

Men have a similar system but it’s more binary.

I don't disagree with your observation, men are naturally competitive due to their biological drive to procreate with as many women as possible. The ones that can't overcome their biological urges are more animals then human beings.

However the one thing I have to disagree with is the whole "the worlds your oyster, you can become great with time and effort". I'm pretty young so maybe I'm talking out of my ass, but the world has changed. People are nihilistic selfish animals and no one gives a fuck about each other, you could spend twenty years studying and it means fuck all if there is no job for you at the end.

Maybe because I live in a socialist country, but with the boatloads of gender quotas, diversity, social justice and egalitarianism, your stuck. The average man is a disposable beast of burden who has to go into back breaking labour to survive, which eventually kills him anyway.

You want me to explain how our debt based money system works? Easy. Want me to explain socioeconomic factors to a child? No problem. However, when I go for job interviews and they ask me "why do you want this job" and they don't like my answer of "anything is better then starving to death" then their is something seriously wrong with this fucking planet.

I don't envy any male above me at my job, the jokes on them, more money and status means more responsibilities and more stress. I am actually thankful they are doing that and not me.

Macro (large scale) processes vs micro. Society trends vs. individual needs. As most of us here are INTJs we tend to look at big forces in action and adjust our behavioral model accordingly. Not everybody is like that and the fact remains that society is becoming more and more self-absorbed and narcissistic which manifests itself in what you are describing.

Competitiveness and rivalry have always been part of the interactions among humans but it seems to be more degenerate and reflect more basic primitive instincts.

men are constantly im competition with each other. due to the hypergamy out there, its never been a fiercer competition. i also think that due to todays hypergamy through social media, the pill, and women being in the workforce, this is making male competition waaaaaaaaay higher. which also leads to the influx of sexual orientations, gender swapping, gender identifiers, etc., beacuse all these people "losing" the race to mate, instead of dying, being killed, or just leaving, are forming a new identity, and then trying to insert that identity (rather forcefully) into todays society.
