insulin can really be made at home in a garage. In 12th grade bio, we made genetically modified baceria that produced proteins that glow in the dark kind of like a glow fish thing...
and old lab equipment like centrifuges can be bought 2nd hand on ebay for 40 dollars...
theres a yt video on a highschoole male who made his own for his sister... if there was actually some decent documentation on doing it, i might consider making it lol, but there isnt...

i dont have any insulin problems lol, but just throwin it out there as general info like if u dont have the money, try making your own... you should at least know about chemistry and crap.
insulin is made basically by genetically modifying bacteria to produce it for humans. its not made in a lab, its literally made by bacteria... of course you then need to extract if from the bacteria in a lab but u get the point. It is possible to make your own if you have that bacteria culture from somwhere and extract it, or somehow you genetically modify the bacteria to produce it. a good buisness model would be for a company to sell that bacteria on the web, so that people could buy it and grow their own insulin...
of course its safe if its done right. people can build their own helicopters, the wright brothers built a frickin plane, and some other dude made a steam powered rocket like 5 years ago and launched himself a mile in the sky.

Storytime gents.
Long story leading into this story short I was assaulted and the medication they put me on did something to my body's ability to process sugars. Doctors don't care to diagnose or fix it, so I'm out of luck there.
When we discovered this my blood sugar was so high the meter couldn't read it. They wanted to give me a shot of insulin right there and then. I staunchly refused. Whether you believe it or not, I am of the firm belief that if you take insulin your body will stop producing its own and you will be dependent on a foreign substance to live.
Instead of taking insulin, I've managed my condition with proper diet, exercise, and metformin a medication that has been on the market for 40 plus years. (7-year rule unless you absolutely need it to not die). Each time I came in healthy because of my diet and exercise my doctor looked actively irritated at my lab results. Which shows consistently sugar isn't clinging to my blood.
Not everyone can do it, but if you can pursue natural routes. It's better than being dependent on drugs you might lose access to.
