Back in my homeless years, I had a job where I would get off work just after midnight. I would take my truck up in the hills, sometimes have a fire, sometimes not, and when it was time for bed I would sleep in the cab of the truck.

A guy I worked with who had just started a few weeks earlier and didn't have a car or his own place was kicked out by his girlfriend from the apartment she leased. He said he had nowhere to go and didn't have the money yet to get his own place because he just started that job.

He asked me if he could stay with me for a couple weeks. I was like "dude, you know I'm homeless, I shower at the gym or in the river, I sleep in the cab of a truck."

He was like "don't you have a tent?"

And that's how I became a homeless guy with a roommate. After work we would go up in the hills, he'd put up an old tent I had then we'd sit around a campfire until I'd go sleep in the truck and he would go sleep in the tent.

In the morning we'd go back to town, I'd drop him usually at an intersection then go do my own thing until shift started.

The thing is I really like peace and quiet and really loved camping alone every day after work out in nature. But that guy would just talk about work. He would basically just verbally relive the whole workday to me when we'd both finished living it for real and I was just trying to relax by a campfire. Man, that was a long 2 weeks.

Anyway, I sympathize with your point of view.

I can spend days alone. No problem.

I used to have jobs where I interacted with dozens, hundreds. Before that, I was an investigator and drove about talking to person after person... but still spending a lot of time alone writing reports and driving.

I have been unemployed, self employed, whatever, since 2011. At this point I am basically unemployable. I couldn't work around a lot of folks. Well. I could. With amphetamines. And probably Xanax.

It's beautiful to come to an empty dark home. Cuz it means I have my piece. And if I don't want it to be dark I can get smart home lightbulbs and turn them on with my phone lolz

I see can why someone would want that. Work can be stressful and it's good to cool off by spending time with someone you love.

I don't personally share the necessity of talking to a human being, which is why I live with my cat, but I understand the people that have such needs.
