If we're going to be the players, be ready to grind a lot for the best things

Hate to be that guy but... there are more than a few instances of "science" that are more than dubious.
How about doing your own research before reaching a conclusion?
Just repeating what "the consensus of the scientific community" has decided, is not much different than saying a prayer based on what "the consensus of the religious leaders" have decided.
If you instantly agree on whatever you're told because "science" you're not gonna have a good time. There are many broken and corrupt interest among academia as well, and if you think about it, why wouldn't it? It's just another reflection of the current ethos.

Science has the outcome predetermined by the entity providing the funding in most cases. There is very little pure science any more.
The health establishment pissed out a whole bladder of credibility by giving a nod to a bunch of protesters while million of folks have lost their jobs and everything was ground to a halt.

Science vs scientism. There are those who worship at the altar of science dogma and those who understand and use the tools of science. And recognize that individual critical thinking is necessary; but many people consider "being critical" as equal to "critical thinking." Any asshole can be critical, but it takes discipline, knowledge and honesty to be a critical thinker.

repeating what " the consensus of the scientific community "
you instantly agree on whatever you're told because "science"
example?.
How about you stop being a Pseudo intellectual
"Science doesn't prove anything, it just reduces uncertainty"
U/? just typing away and giving counter statements, riding a high Pseudo intellectual wave Kinda makes one undistinguishable from this woke horde that we have in the world
that are the vanguard of the school of prioritizing
The scientific method is based on, the fact it is able to accept that it doesn't know where it doesn't know.
The scientific method
Develops a hypothesis➡️ test it through various means ➡️ and then modify the hypothesis on the basis of the outcome of the tests and experiments. ➡️ The modified hypothesis is then retested ➡️ further modified, and tested again ➡️
until it becomes consistent with observed phenomena and testing outcomes.
In this way, hypotheses serve as tools to gather data. From that data and the many different scientific investigations undertaken to explore hypotheses, a broad general explanation, or scientific theories is developed.

Global Warming, The moon landing, 9/11, GMOs and most recently Corona Virus, to name a few.

I honestly don't know what to tell you here, other than it's ok if you believe whatever you want to believe, from the sources you think are trust worthy.

Problem here is consistency, do you know the % of scientific studies that fail to be replicated?
I won't link you to a meme or another thread, I'll just give you a virtual pat on the back for being a good MGTOW brother and keeping this discussion civil. Nah fuck it, take this. Have a good week end bro.

You mean everyone is stuck working in dead end jobs to keep the masses complaint. And the is High level engineering to keep "them" distracted from what really matters?
[–]GreekMoses1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
So what do you even propose? I always wondered about people that complain about the system. What do you think we can do to change that? Because in my realistic view, nothing can be done, unless you truly want to become a monk and live in asia.
[–]themenacehimself4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Bingo. Nothing you can actually do about it. These days I’m not sure if people are complaining or vocalizing their individual epiphany of life around them.

I am not religious, but I dated a Christian girl hoping that she would be virtuous.
I was wrong. So very wrong.
Female Nature trumps Religion.
Female Nature trumps the way that she was raised. (Her Christian conservative parents would NOT be proud of her behavior if they knew what a shitty person she is.)

I always thought about telling my ex’s super Christian mom that her daughter was a cheating ass slut.. Figured she wasn’t worth the energy.
[–]evergreen352 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, I easily could still do this. Better to just move on.
[–]themenacehimself2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sometimes I think everyone knows this as if it’s common knowledge. Each time, I’m always proven wrong.

in python a hashtag tells the computer that line is not worth reading.
This is absolutely retarded.
A hashtag (pound) symbol in almost every coding language denotes everything after it as a comment, meaning the computer doesn't treat it as code - you use this to describe and walk through your code to remind yourself and describe to others what the code is doing.
This isn't unique to python, and trying to twist this into 'not worth reading, take that Twitter' is is pathetic, incorrect, and a massive stretch.

I apologize my good sir, but these aren't the folks from the stackexchange or stackoverflow.
Comments are used to prevent Python from executing code
A comment is text that doesn’t affect the outcome of a code,it is not interpreted, it is just a piece of text to let someone know what you have done in a program or what is being done in a block of code, it isn't meant for the computer.
This isn't unique to python
Who said it was?
is is pathetic, incorrect, and a massive stretch.
