it's lazy movie-making and a desperate attempt to stay relevant. Movies are getting killed by TV shows which is why they doing all this franchise stuff. They've exhausted a lot of the remake material so now they remaking stuff but with the twist of the cast being women instead of men to pathetically hope get some attention. Say what you will about Ghostbusters 2016, people remember it whereas the Robocop and Total Recall remakes have largely been forgotten. Of course, the new Ghostbusters still sucks on every level without the forced feminist angle.

I see the same shit on YouTube, Twitch etc. it seems men create most of the content that is worth watching and then you get these females on here that display their cleavage all in your face claiming to be gamers or whatever profiting off their looks case in point.

My guess is they are busy testing and retesting the film, reshooting and editing the film to avoid disaster.
Matt Damon's role may be minimised since speaking out against metoo'ers.
It's been in post-production for a long while and planned for release this summer.
The hype machine has been plugging the film and monitoring the feedback online.
It will probably tank.

If you're gonna make a movie, and your only premise is, "We're gonna redo a perfectly good movie, only with women," you're gonna have a bad time. Wanna have a better chance at an all-women movie? Get an original plot.
