This post is not about the interpretation. Regardless how it's interpreted, i think we can most of us agree here, that it's good to know about it. So, why is it so obscure for so long????

I'm a geek/nerd, i know a bunch of obscure and useless techno/science stuff, so i was very surprised to find something like this just 2 years ago. I read various ramblings from you guys many years ago, yet the experiment seams to appear in the discussions only from 2013-2014. The statistics from the youtube video, show it to be basically ignored from 2009-2013, then the views suddenly spike way up. It seams there was also an obscure documentary about it in 2012-2013. On youtube, there is no pirate media talking about it, except the video linked above that dates from the 80s. No mainstream media seam to talk about it, only youtubers talk about it. Even they, they all date from 2013-2014 the earliest. Even on reddit, the oldest posts about don't go beyond that.... I really don't think this is due to bitrot, the internet seams discovered it only in 2013-2014.

People manage to discuss stuff like negative fertility rates, hikikomori, roman empire collapse, fermi paradox, with out even mentioning the experiment. The fermi paradox, that by its nature is crazy speculative, will have people discussing if we live in a computer simulation or in a stellar zoo or if travel in parallel dimensions is possible, but they never mention the experiment..... Even these guys dropped the ball....

MGTOW/red pill/manosphere didn't appear in 2013. The internet wasn't invented in 2013. You aren't all 15 year old boys, some of you are old farts. It seams it was very famous back in the 60s-70s..... And you are what? several hundreds of thousands?

So.... What went wrong????
