Why does it seem like r/TheRedPill think playing video games is a waste of time?

Every time someone goes to improve themselves on that sub they mention giving up video games. My experience last year was that I wasn't much of a gamer but I had a lot of weight to use and was newly single so as a distraction tool I built a gaming PC.

I spent my time 50/50 Gaming and Fitness. In a year of doing this I saw more improvement in my entire just by focusing on one long term goal whilst having a lot of down time than I have my entire life. Not the conventional way of achieving goals because I gamed alot but people respond better to me and my life has changed so much for the better.

My question is: Why are video games seen as detrimental? Anyone else heavily play games but still get shit done?
