To be clear, this is considered a "biased" sample, meaning that the factors leading up to the testing group will, more likely than on an unbiased sample, have more of the sought out disposition. This should not be taken to mean that 1/3 of all births involve an instance of paternity fraud. It means, that out of all the cases where men are contesting paternity, or at least have enough doubt to demand a test, 1/3 are proving not to the the father.

For example, if you wanted to know how many women in the populace had had an abortion, you'd have a very skewed figure if you only interviewed women leaving abortion clinics. Your selection of the sample is biased, so the results will be skewed.

However, what it does mean is that if you have ANY doubt, you should test. Women will assert paternity on grounds other than sincere belief--because there is no penalty for them if they are wrong, even if they are wrong because they are lying or careless or just evil.

I was surprised it's not higher. Then I thought, perhaps it's not as high because a lot of women are forcing the tests to try claim child support, rather than men who can tell its not their kid.

The real rate in society is estimated between 2-12%. Someone needs to do a real study, but hard evidence may be very detrimental, that's why they like the vague numbers, can't have men red pilled
