I think this is left over from old school advice and women don't realize times have drastically changed.
100 years ago if your gf/fiance was upset with you, she just might stop contacting you for a while. You knew she was home, taking care of her relatives and her dad was asking her why she was going out if her fiance wasn't at the door taking her out. Her family and her town were keeping her in check. So sure, maybe 3 weeks of no writing or seeing you at the town square worked to make a guy miss her.
Now if you're gf is no contact for 18 hours there is no excuse other than she's on someone's dick.

She was pretty much ghosting because she really didn’t value him. Does anybody honestly believe her bullshit when she said “you gotta give them time to miss you.” That is such a weak copout. No the truth is that she wanted to torment him for her pleasure. That makes her a sociopath. We’re all human beings who deserve an equal amount of attention from those we’ve fallen in love with. When she dehumanizes you by treating you like a credit card bill that she can just push to the side for 2 weeks, she does not deserve you. Had that boyfriend waited for her, she wouldn’t appreciate it. She would take him even more for granted and continue with these charades. Really, this is the most narcissistic thing I’ve seen. This woman does not care about the guy’s feelings and building a relationship. She only cares about the sick pleasure she gets from how needy she makes her man by ignoring him. Most likely what happened was that she was getting her back blown out by "Chad Thundercock," and she thought she had a chance to lock him down but after a couple of weeks realized that she was nothing more to him than an easy lay so she tried crawling back to her beta bucks but he had already moved on.
